A wild swimming adventure for you and your four-legged best friend

This November, we're heading to the Lake District for our very first dog-friendly wild swimming retreat.

Three days of beautiful lakes, wild swims, spectacular walks, great food, cosy evenings and, most importantly, your dog gets to come too.

We've designed Paws & Plunge so you can enjoy the full Wild Swimming Co. experience without having to leave your best friend at home.

What happens if I bring my dog?

That's entirely up to you, and your dog.

If your dog is a confident swimmer and comfortable around open water, they're welcome to join us on our swims. We'll be exploring some of the Lakes' beautiful waters together, and your dog can experience the adventure alongside you.

But if your dog isn't a confident swimmer, doesn't like getting in the water, or you'd simply rather keep them on dry land, that's absolutely fine too.

Our team are dog lovers, and we'll make sure your four-legged friend is looked after from the shore while you enjoy your swim.

So you don't need to choose between your adventure and your dog,  you can have both.

Your own room

Because we're welcoming dogs on this retreat, we ask that anyone bringing a dog books a private room.

This means you and your dog have your own space to relax after a day of swimming and exploring.

Dogs are welcome too

Your dog isn't just welcome in your bedroom.

Dogs are also welcome in the hotel restaurant, so you can enjoy our meals together rather than worrying about leaving them alone.

What should I bring?

Your dog will need their own little adventure kit. We recommend bringing:

• Food and water bowls

• Their usual dog food

• A dog bed or blanket

• Towels for muddy paws and wet fur

• Any treats or essentials they normally need

• Anything they need to stay warm and comfortable

And, of course, a lead for walks and time around the hotel.

A retreat for both of you

Whether your dog is a Labrador who launches themselves into every lake they see, or a slightly more cautious companion who prefers to watch from the shore, there's a place for them at Paws & Plunge.

You can swim, hike, explore and relax, while your dog gets to experience the Lake District with you.

Bring your boots. Bring your swimming kit. Bring the dog.

Lake District

Escape to Windermere Manor Hotel in The Lakes, a short distance from the shores of Windermere. Nestled in the heart of the Lakes, this welcoming hideaway is your base for a wintery plunge adventure—complete with icy dips, snowy hikes, and moments of warmth by the log fire.

North Wales

This all-inclusive retreat will run from 1pm Friday to 1pm Sunday at an exclusively hired Watkin Bunkhouse, with a back door on to the Watkin Path, nestled at the bottom of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon)

We've partnered with incredible local, female mountain leaders to uncover Eryri’s (Snowdonia’s) best-kept secrets for inspiring walks and swims in rivers, pools, waterfalls, and lakes.

On day 2 we'll do the best summit available to us, given the weather and will be rewarded with a refreshing swim on the way down.

And yes, if the weather allows we will most likely walk to the summit of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon)!!

Don't panic this is suitable for all who have a basic level of fitness, we are led by you.

Eryri (Snowdonia), North Wales

Sunday 1pm – Tuesday 1pm

Join us for an unforgettable all-inclusive wild swimming retreat based in the heart of Eryri National Park, staying at The Rocks, Capel Curig, perfectly positioned amongst some of North Wales' most spectacular mountain scenery.

Just a short stroll from beautiful mountain lakes and our favourite river dipping spot, The Rocks is the ideal base for three days of adventure, connection and restoration. Spend your days exploring crystal-clear lakes, hidden waterfalls, winding rivers and dramatic mountain landscapes before returning to relax, refuel and share stories with fellow swimmers.

Working alongside expert local guides, we'll take you beyond the obvious, discovering secret swim locations that showcase the very best of Eryri. Whether you're floating beneath towering peaks, plunging into emerald pools or enjoying a peaceful sunrise dip, every swim is chosen to leave you inspired.

This retreat is designed to help you slow down, reconnect with nature and experience the incredible feeling that only wild swimming can bring.

Dorset

Tucked just moments from the breathtaking Jurassic Coast, Kingston Country Courtyard is your cosy sanctuary for a wild swimming escape. With sweeping views over Purbeck Valley and the historic silhouette of Corfe Castle, this tranquil countryside hideaway is the perfect place to rest, recharge, and reconnect with like-minded souls.

Ease into the year with a few days of calm and connection—think nourishing meals at the charming Sawmill Restaurant, guided cold-water dips, and the soothing heat of four of Dorset’s most stunning waterside saunas, each exclusively reserved for our group.

No car? No problem.

Take the train to Poole, then hop on the 40 bus straight to Kingston Country Courtyard. 

Cornwall

Tidal pools, hidden coves, playful waves, and even a mythical waterfall—this is wild swimming, Cornish style.

Stay at the much-loved Atlantic House, perched above the sea with breathtaking views and access to a private beach near Bude. Enjoy hearty breakfasts and home cooked evening meals, with time to savour a classic Cornish pasty for lunch.

Perfect for beginners and seasoned swimmers alike, with the option to swim up to 2km daily, this retreat offers the ideal balance of adventure, rest, and connection.
